Keywords In Title Tag

Today people all over the world use search engines in order to navigate through the Internet. This means that it is quite important to have your web site ranked highly for queries you consider to be valuable. For example if you sell basketball shoes, you generally want your site to be listed highly for the search "basketball shoes". The Internet is very large therefore you will generally always have some sort of competition, this makes ranking on the search engines a bit harder.
What we mean is that you must prove to the search engines that your website is more valuable and important when compared to your competitors, and therefore you should be listed in front of them when a person is to search for your related term(s).
There are many elements that will lead to successful ranking on the search engines. One in particular is having your keywords in your title tag. The title tag is an important place to have your keywords located because what is written title tag shows in the search results as your page title. You should try to be descriptive and not "spammy". Your title tag should typically be no more than 6 or 7 words at most. Try to have your keywords near the beginning of the title tag and try to have unique title tags for every page on your web site.

Google Leads All Search Engines in August 2007

Again for another month, Google led all search engine properties on the Internet as the most used search engine for the month of August 2007. Google came in 1st while Yahoo and MSN were second and third respectively. Over half of all searches across the Internet were performed by Google, who was the leading search engine with 53.6% market share. Google was followed by Yahoo at 19.9% and MSN (Live search) who had 12.9%. With the way things are going, it seems like no other site is able to dramatically cut into Google's large piece of the pie. As Google's market share and power across the Internet continues to rise, so does the company's stock - which just hit an all-time high at 571.79.

$50,000 NBA Domain Name

The Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association have recently purchased the domain name www.bobcats.com from Barbara Roe, a bobcat breeder who lives in Montana. For its first three seasons in the NBA, the Bobcats used the domain name www.bobcatsbasketball.com because the domain name belonged to Barbara Roe. The Charlotte Bobcats have been pursuing the domain name since 2004, according to ESPN Roe has agreed to sell the www.Bobcats.com domain name for $50,000.
We have talked about domain names in relation to property in the past. This case is a great example of a person (Barbara Roe) who most likely had no idea that an NBA team was going to share the same name as her domain name and because she owned the domain name, Roe was able to sell the name for $50,000 and easily pickup another domain name. Roe now uses the domain name www.bobcatsmt.com and the domain name switch seems to be completed.
