Bitmaps to Vectors
I imported the image using the - File - Import... - command. Then I clicked the - Modify - Trace Bitmap... command. The 'Trace Bitmap' window opens. There are four parameters available. They control how closely the new vector graphic will match the original bitmap image.

Trace Bitmap Window Options

Color Threshold: (1-500) This parameter determines how Flash handles similar pixels. If the RBG difference between two pixels is less than the color threshold, the pixels are considered the same color. If you use higher values you decrease the number of colors. Lower values increase the number of color and the ultimate file size. The examples below have different 'Color Threshold' values and keep default settings for the rest.

Color Threshold 100

Color Threshold 50

Color Threshold 25
