Edit Menu
The
Edit Menu has some of the most frequently used options in FrontPage. Most of the
options in this menu have shortcut keys, and I suggest that you learn them. This
will save you a lot of time when working on a project. For this reason, the shortcut
keys are listed in the descriptions of each option below.
Undo
(Ctrl+Z): This will undo the last thing that you did in FrontPage. You can continue
to undo up to the last 30 things you've done, but that's it. Sorry, 30 seems to
be the limit.
Redo (Ctrl+Y): If you undo something,
and then realize that you really did like it better the way it was, then you can
select this option to put things back the way they were. Again, the 30 limit applies.
Cut
(Ctrl+X) / Copy (Ctrl+C) / Paste (Ctrl+V): The functions of these
options should be obvious. I use these so frequently, that my left hand is always
in position to press one of these three shortcuts.
Paste
Special: Allows you to manipulate the text you are pasting in the following
ways: One formatted paragraph, Formatted paragraphs, Normal paragraphs, Normal
paragraphs with line breaks, Treat as HTML.
Select All
(Ctrl+A): Highlights the entire page, which can then be cut, copied, deleted or
whatever.
Find (Ctrl+F) / Replace (Ctrl+H): These
are especially useful functions. If you want to locate something on a page or
even within an entire Web, simply hit Ctrl+F. Type what you're looking for, then
hit "Find Next." If you not only want to find something, but also replace
that thing, choose the "Replace" option. With this you can find each
instance and replace it with whatever you choose. If either of these options are
selected while you are in the HTML tab, then "Find" and "Replace"
will act on straight HTML code.
