View Menu
The
first 6 options in this menu function exactly the same as the Views window explained
above.
Views Bar: This allows you to toggle between
hiding and not hiding the Views window on the left side of the screen.
Reveal Tags: Lets you see the HTML tags for your document while you are
in Normal mode. This can be useful when you have many nested tags and are having
trouble pairing them up.
Toolbars: Lets you select
which toolbars should be visible while you are running FrontPage. The default
is to have the "Standard" and "Formatting" toolbars visible,
while keeping the rest hidden. We will go through the use of each of these later
on.
Insert Menu
Break: Inserts
a line break at the current position of the cursor. A shortcut for this is holding
down Shift+Enter.
Symbol: This is similar to the Insert
Symbol function in MS Word. Here you can insert useful symbols not found on your
keyboard.
Component: Here is where you can select a
FrontPage component to insert into your page. There will be a more detailed discussion
of FrontPage components later, but for right now know that this is where you can
insert them.
Form: Insert any of several form components.
Picture:
There are 3 sub-options here. "Clipart" allows you to select an image
included with FrontPage into your document. "From File" allows you to
take an image that you have saved somewhere else and incorporate it into your
Web page. "Video" allows you to insert .avi, .asf, .ram, or .ra video
into your page.
Hyperlink: Highlight the text or image
that you wish to make a link, then choose this option.
Format
Menu
Most of the options in this menu have to do with text
formatting. Things like font, text size and color, bulleting, and table shading
can all be changed here. Other than that, it is important to know that this is
where you can find the "Theme" option. This option allows you to apply
one of FrontPage's themes to your site. This will implement a consistent scheme
of colors, fonts and images across your site. While I most definitely do not support
the use of the provided themes, they can enable someone to put together a site
very quickly (no matter what that resulting site may look like).
