Gradient
Palette
The Gradient Palette has four tabs. These include an Adjust tab
for manipulates the amount of black and white in a color. The 3D can give an object
a 3-dimensional effect. The gradient tab allows you to apply a gradual blend of
colors to an object. The Layer tab allows you to specify properties for a selected
layer.
Adjust Tab
You can adjust the Hue of a color
here by affecting its brightness (1); the contrast between colors (2); the saturation
or strength of gray in a color (3); the tint, which blends the foreground in the
color palette with the current fill for the selected layer (4); you can set the
number of colors in the image with posterize (5); and you can invert, or change
a color to its exact opposite (6).

3D Tab
This is a good tool for adding 3d effects like Emboss and Bevel (1); after applying
the effect you can manipulate its depth (2); its softness, or blurring (3); its
lighting (4); the angle of light applied (5); the kind of edge you want, such
as, straight or button (6); and the kind of lighting you want applied (7).

Gradient Tab
You have a number of gradient effects you can apply, these include, linear, burst,
double burst and radial (1); Then you can affect the gradients rotation (2); the
gradients relative distance from the object's edges (3); and the colors within
the gradient (4).

Layer Tab
This tab gives designers the ability to specify properties of specific layers.
First you can choose among various types of fills, including color, texture, images
or use the existing background (1); the X and Y offset specify how far the layer
(i.e. a shadow layer) is moved from the object's center (2) the width of a layer
(3); and its softness or blurring (4).
