No matter what affiliate programs you
currently use, the following 5 tips will help you market your affiliate
programs effectively. Your newsletter subscribers will thank you
for using these 5 tips:
1) Pick Your Reseller Programs Based
On Your Target Market.
2) Put "Back End" Sales To Work For You.
3) Only Promote Products And Services You've Purchased.
4) Use Reviews And Testimonials Instead Of Banners.
5) Automate Your Prospecting.
By putting these 5 tips into work, you
can develop a deadly leads generator that's sure to increase your
commissions. I use these same 5 tips every time I promote a new
product or service. Let's Go!
--==--
1) Pick your reseller programs based on your target market.
--==--
There are thousands of reseller programs
online. Before choosing which program you wish to endorse, you need
to compile demographic information on your target market.
If you have an ezine or online newsletter,
this is relatively easy to do. Create an interactive poll where
your subscribers can tell you exactly what types of products and
services they're looking for. Segment your subscriber base into
subgroups based on the results of your poll.
Example:
If you have 500 subscribers to an Internet
marketing newsletter, you could ask them to complete an online poll
such as:
1) Which of the following are you most
interested in?
a) Finding a better Web site host
b) Automating my online business
c) Finding the perfect online business
d) Starting my own newsletter, etc.
When someone fills out the form, place
their answer into a database along with their email address. Then,
send a customized email to each group.
Now you have concrete statistics you
can use to find which resellers work for you. If your subscriber
are more interested in Web site hosting than business automation,
your goal is to find a hosting company that has an excellent compensation
package. Sign up as a reseller and promote their products and service
to the subscribers whose answer was "web hosting" in your poll.
That's powerful!

2) Put "Back End" Sales To Work For You.
--==--
If you sell a product online, your most
receptive market consists of your previous customers. People who
have purchased your product or service have placed their trust in
you. Your customers have essentially "prequalified" themselves to
buy from you in the future.
Back End sales is essentially the process
of selling a high price point item to your current customer base.
The most profitable Web site marketers do this. You can too!
Here's how:
If you sell an informational product
that costs $20.00, sign up as a reseller for a similar product that
pays you $75 to $100.00 in commissions per sale. Then, contact your
existing customers and explain how this product can help them.
I use this same technique to sell Allen
Say's Internet Marketing Site. When someone signs up for my newsletter,
I send them a personal recommendation for Allen's product, and I
do make commissions from him. ($30.00 per sale.)
--==--
3) Only Promote Products And Services You've Purchased.
--==--
Have you ever recommended a movie that
you've never seen to your friends? Probably not.
Yet online, this happens daily. I receive
tons of spam from marketers who are promoting a product or service
that they've probably never purchased themselves.
It's hard to sell a product or service
that you've never used. Why? Because you can't write a personal
testimonial about how the product or service has helped you.
Instead, try this technique:
Purchase a product or service online
from a company that has an active reseller system. Once you receive
your product or service, review it and send your review to your
current customers and newsletter subscribers. (Read the next tip
for more info.)
In the last tip, I talked about how I
promote Allen Says' Internet Marketing Site. The reason that I make
commissions is because I have personally purchased Allen's product
and I use it weekly. Every time I promote Allen's site I make sure
that I mention the fact that I am a customer of Allens. This adds
clout to my marketing messages.
By promoting products and services that
you've purchased yourself, you instantly ad credibility to your
marketing materials.

4) Use Reviews And Testimonials Instead Of Banners.
--==--
Banner ads have such a low click through
rate, yet webmasters continue to use them.
Here's a better idea:
Write a testimonial or review about the
product you're reselling instead. Text links out pull banners by
as much as 80% (according to my own data). Product endorsements
via reviews and testimonials are much more likely to attract interest
that simple banner ads.
When you're writing your testimonial
or review, make sure you sound honest and credible instead of "over
the top." (Be sure to read Tip #3 for more help.)

5) Automate Your Prospecting.
--==--
By putting the above examples to work,
you'll start to attract more and more prospects. Unless you have
a rock-solid method of dealing with customer support and inquiries,
you're doomed to failure.
Automate as much of your prospecting
as possible. Here's a few methods you can use to make your job easier:
1) Place your marketing materials on
autoresponder.
Get a free autoresponder from Marketer's
Choice at:
http://www.ubrande.com/marketers_choice.php3?mc2
This will allow you to send timely marketing
messages to your prospects without having to do it by hand...
Definitely a time saver!
Another similar ideas is to try to gain
subscriber *before* you attempt to sell them anything. That way,
you have their permission to send them product info on a periodical
basis through your newsletter. (I always experience a boost in sales
the day after I send out my newsletter.)
2) "Pre-qualify" prospects.
Instead of placing a simple link on your
site to promote a reseller program, write an article that prequalifies
the reader.
For example, an article about growing
your own newsletter would be an excellent way to prequalify potential
customers for the Gold Mine ebook. If someone was interested enough
to read the article and click on your unique reseller link, you're
much more likely to close the sale.
3) Create a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
page on your Web site
When I am looking for specific marketing
help, one of the first places I look is at the FAQ page on some
of my favorite marketing related Web sites Create a FAQ page, and
compile a list of questions and answers about the reseller program
you're using. Answer the questions that potential customers may
have such as:
How will this product help me? Is there
a money-back guarantee? What kind of customer support can I expect?
By answering your prospects questions
*before* you send them to your reseller link, you're much more likely
to make a sale.
Remember, increasing your commissions
checks does not mean working harder, just smarter.
