Three Magic Words Your Business Can't Live Without

Home > Profit > Selling Products or Services > Increasing Sales > Articles

by Anthony Stillwell

Did you know that there are 3 magic words that are absolutely essential to the profitability of your business?

Three words that virtually all businesses that have failed completely overlooked? You see most businesses are in the mindset to get new customers. Of course you should always be looking for new customers, but you should never ignore the customers you already have. In other words Back End Sales. It is virtually impossible to build and maintain a money-making business without those three words.

What Is A Back-End Sale?
Any and every sale you make to a customer who has already bought a front-end product from you is a back end sale. Have you ever bought something from a company and then a few weeks later got a letter or catalog from them offering you more products? This is called a back-end offer.

Why Are Back End Sales So Important?
"Back-End" sales are the backbone of any successful business. You can only sell one product to so many people. You need to have other related products to sell to the people that have already bought from you.

The Easiest Sale To Make
The back-end sale is the easiest sale to make because you've already gained your customer's trust through the quality and service you provided with your front-end product.

When your customers get another offer from you they'll remember how you treated them, how satisfied they were with your company and the benefits they got from your product. If they had a good feeling about your company the first time they bought it's likely they'll want to buy from you again.

Because they already feel they know you and your company you don't have to spend a lot of time in your advertising copy trying to get them to trust you enough to send you their money. It's much easier to make the sale.

More Profitable
Since you have no real advertising costs to promote back-end offers to your current customers, other than the cost of sending your sales material which can be done for free online you pocket more profits from each sale.

3-Steps To Selling Back-End Products

1. Similar Offers and Products
If someone buys a report or manual on making money you'll have better luck selling them a more extensive course on the same subject than trying to sell them something completely unrelated. That person has already expressed and interest in a particular subject so you want to offer them more of the same kind of products.

2. The Same Or Higher Price
When you offer your customers a back-end offer make it the same price or higher than the original front-end product. Since your customers already know you and your company they will feel more comfortable buying a higher priced product from you.

3. Contact Them On A Regular Basis
Don't let your customers "get cold". Keep sending them new offers. Every few weeks or so. Even if they don't buy the first, second or third back-end offer they may buy from you later. The key is to actively pursue your existing customer base.

Where To Get Back-End Products
There are many information products you can offer customers who buy your main money-making product. You don't have to create them yourself. There are many companies that offer information products and can drop-ship them under your name/company name to your customers for you. You can find them by using the search engines. You can also work out Joint Ventures with other companies for 50% of the profits if you don't have other products to sell. For more information on how to do this visit our site.

How To Keep In Touch
Contacting your existing customers can be as easy as sending them another sales letter. Be sure to identify yourself right away. Make sure they remember you and that they have purchased a product from you before.

You can also contact your customers using:

  • Newsletter/eZine
  • Free Reports
  • Special Product Offers by eMail, etc.
As long as you remember how important it is to contact your customers again and again, it really doesn't matter how you do it - just do it!
