Promote Your Site With FFAs!

The subject
of this article probably surprised some, with the amount of bad publicity going
around for FFA or free-for-all pages. These pages can be posted to by anyone with
an email address and URL, and there are thousands of them out there. If you've
ever seen a "Blast Your Ad to 100,000 sites!" ad, your ad will probably
be going mostly to FFA pages.
The secret to using an FFA to
promote your site is not to submit to them, but to run your own! While a growing
number of Internet marketers are realizing this, FFA pages only really benefit
those who run them, not those who post. Running an FFA can easily allow you to
send out your sales letter or advertisement to thousands of people each day. Each
time your FFA page is submitted to, you send an email confirmation to the poster.
But isn't this spam?
No. Your FFA submissions
will probably be coming from automatic submission sites and software, where the
user is warned beforehand that they will receive many emails in response to their
submission. It is good to have a note on your own page saying that you will email
the user, but since you don't need to direct actual traffic to your page for this
to work, it isn't necessary.
Each time your FFA page is submitted
to, your confirmation can include as much as you want to include in it; an entire
letter selling a product or a short advertisement for your site.
So
the benefits of running an FFA page of your own are obvious:
- No
promotion of the FFA page needed once it's listed in autosubmission sites.
- You
can run an FFA page of your own with FREE CGI scripts.
- You can send thousands
of non-SPAM emails a day with your ad.
