Making
the Most of Every Visitor

If you are like me, you don't have a multi million dollar
advertising budget. You can't afford to spend thousands of dollars
attracting visitors to your website. You therefore need to maximize
every single visitor you do receive. Look at every visitor that comes
to your site as an opportunity to expand. Give every visitor high
quality service and information.
In order to maximize each visitor, you must implement
a strategy. The strategy should include the following goals:
- At a very minimum, get the visitor's email address.
- Use your visitor to get a referral. Offer a place on your website
for visitors to "tell a friend" about your website.
- Find the exit points on your website. Place links to your affiliated
websites to maximize the revenue that comes your way.
- Give away freebies that will bring traffic back to your site.
Offer a download portion of your page where visitors can download
samples of your service or develop a unique product that brings
visitors back to your site on a daily basis.
- Know your visitors. If you have a lot of visitors who are new
to the Internet, offer them the opportunity to change their start
page to your site. Studies have shown that 58% of web surfers
do not know how to change their start page. Use this to your advantage.
By developing a strategy to maximize every single visitor
that comes to your site, you also maximize your revenue. Treat every
visitor as an opportunity to expand your service.
Most importantly, be creative. I've seen a great example
of creativity at receiptmail.com.
Receipt mail is an email service that offers certified email. You
can track whether or not the recipient has read your email. In order
to read the message, the recipient must first go to the receipt mail
website. This allows the site owners yet another opportunity to promote
their services. Develop your own strategy and tell us about it. We
might even feature your site here!
