As well as
benefiting your wired social life, your weblog can have an impact on your real
social life too. If your friends read your weblog then they know what you're up
to, they'll know when you're on vacation and they may even know when you're in
a bad mood. It's also an excellent way of keeping in touch with friends who've
moved away or are on the other side of the world since they can read all of your
daily happenings over the Web.
If You've Got Talent, You'll
Benefit
Believe it or not, people have got business from
their weblogs. It's not surprising really since there's a lot of talented webloggers.
For example, there are some great illustrators out there such as Claire of LoobyLu
or Angela of SpaceGirl.
Weblogs can provide you with an audience for your own talents.
If
you draw, write, paint, sing, write music or even do street theatre you should
be able to find an audience to captivate with your daily updates about your work.
If you're lucky you might even score some regular commissions from it too.
How
Business Can Benefit
Forgetting personal arts and talents,
there's benefits for regular business too. Some companies are using weblog systems
for internal communications. It makes sense. You allow everyone in a department
to post to a weblog and they'll post interesting links related to work, information
about current projects or maybe even provide some suggestions about how to run
the office more efficiently! Most managers say that staff communication is extremely
important, so what easier and more manageable way is there than a staff weblog?
